I’ve always loved volleyball. I wouldn’t be sacrificing my time and effort into this sport if I didn’t. You won’t find a private coach more committed to you and your development than me.
Playing Career
I started playing in February 2021 when I tried out and made the UC Intervarsity squad. My first coach was Greg Ophel, a longtime coach in the scene.
When the 2021 ACT OL spring season (July) came along, I played in Div 2 for Dragons ACE - which happened to be my brother’s team at the time. Unfortunately, COVID happened, and that season never finished.
Next year, the 2022 OL autumn season (March) started, and I had moved to ANU (I moved because it was the only club that trained Thursday). I played for ANU competing in Div 1. I learnt a lot training with ANU, as they allowed me to join the CVL group on Thursday nights.
I played my first ACT CVL match midway through the 2022 season and made some great connections. I decided to make a team for the 2022 OL spring season, that team being eventually named "Volley Vipers”.
Tragically, I injured my left knee on the first game of the season. I had torn my ACL, MCL & PCL and caused a small fracture to my tibia. But it wasn’t the end of my story.
Since the injury…
I’ve found my passion for coaching - specifically development.
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to coach for many different things, most notably:
2022
Volley Vipers - Spring Season Division 2 Gold Medalists
2023
Volley Vipers - Autumn Season Division 1 Bronze Medalists
Volley Vipers - Spring Season Division 1 Silver Medalists
Assistant Coach - ACT U16 Boys - AYVC
Head Coach - Lyneham High School - Year 10 Boys Honours - AVSC
Developmental Coach - National Development Program - QLD
I’ve learnt a lot. I played, watched and studied volleyball. I finished a diploma in sport development and I’m looking to study more. I am confident in what I know, and I’m itching to give my knowledge to those I coach.
